Norbert R. Rolnicki, 79, of Georgetown, passed away at 10:00 p.m. Wednesday March 17, 2010 at Provena USMC Logan Campus. He was born on April 18, 1930 in Chicago, IL the son of Joseph and Harriet (Suczynski) Rolnicki. He married Edith Mary Eldridge on December 28, 1952 in New London, CT. She preceded him in death on July 30, 1971. Survivors include his four sons; Lawrence (Patricia) Rolnicki of Benton, KY, Joseph (Leigh) Rolnicki of St. Louis, MO, Gregory (Kim) Rolnicki of Danville, and Matthew Rolnicki of Springfield, IL; his grandchildren; Michael Rolnicki of North Aurora, IL, Amy Rolnicki of Benton, KY, Gretchen Rolnicki of Chicago, IL, Luke and Grace Rolnicki of Danville, and Tanner and Addison Rolnicki of St. Louis, MO; two brothers; Edwin (Gloria) Rolnicki of Chicago Ridge, IL and Richard (Mary) Rolnicki of Leesburg, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents. Norbert was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving on the USS Piper during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Parish, the American Legion Dornblazer Post 203, and the Danville Elks Lodge. He enjoyed gardening and fishing. Norbert was and avid Bears and Illini Fan and gave to many of his favorite charities. He loved sitting on his back porch swing and watching his hummingbirds and the sunset. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his sons and his grandchildren.
