Nora Elizabeth Schuster, 39, of Champaign, died Friday (Dec. 9, 2022) at Northwestern Medical Central Dupage Hospital, Winfield. She was an early Valentine, born Feb. 13, 1983, to Georgiana (Limbers) and Eric Schuster. With her brother, Steven, who was two years younger, she built with Lincoln Logs. She was an Indian Princess in a YMCA program with her father, Eric, who died when she was 8 years old.
Despite being born with a genetic syndrome, she excelled at sociability, especially with adults; music, cooking, and an above-average memory. She could remember exactly what was served at a dinner held 10 years ago. She learned to drive, worked part-time jobs and lived in her own apartment and condominium at different times.
Nora attended Booker T. Washington Elementary School and Jefferson Middle School; was a 2001 graduate of Centennial High School and took classes at Parkland College, all in Champaign. Teachers special to her taught her sign language and music. Subsequently, Nora enjoyed singing, listening to music and playing the piano. For years, she maintained a Facebook account filled with uplifting thoughts and encouragement for others. Growing up with a dog, she later adopted two cats. A cat named, Carly, survives her.
Nora is survived by her mother, Georgiana Schuster, Champaign; brother, Steven Schuster of Placentia, CA; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
