Nina Barney

Nina (Hanson) Barney, 91, of Westville, passed away at 8:45am on Sunday, March 15, 2009 at the Danville Care Center. She was born on May 20, 1917, in Westville, the daughter of George and Jenny (Owen) Hanson. Both deceased. In 1936, Nina married Mr. Joseph Barney Sr. He preceded her in death in 1992. Surviving are her three sons, Terry (Carol) Barney of Westville, Owen (Amy) Barney of Westville, and Joseph Jr. (Wanda) Barney of Georgetown. Nina is also survived by her seven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren. Her three brothers, John, Clarence, and Ed Hanson, two grandchildren, Tom Barney, and Tammy Woods, and one great-great grandson, Tyler Barney, precede Nina in death. She was a devoted mother and grandmother that loved flowers, and spending time with her family.
