Nevia Ann Newell, 70, of Danville, died at 10:05 a.m., Monday April 18, 2011 at her residence. Ann was born June 21, 1940 in Coral Ridge, KY, the daughter of the late Mary Murray and Liston Sutton. She married Tommy Owen in 1959. He preceded her in death in 1973. She was formerly married to Larry Newell. Surviving are 6 sons, Rick (Barbara) Owen of El Paso, TX, Terry (Lyn) Owen of Virginia Beach, VA, Joe Owen, Mike Owen, Anthony Owen and Steve (Brandi) Owen all of Danville, 1 daughter, Kristal (Jason) Reed of Oakwood. 16 grandchildren, Angela Franklin and Allen Owen of TX, Sarah Owen of FL, Samantha Bailey and Tonya Craig of VA, Renee, Misty, and Justin Owen of Odell,IL, Christopher, Brandon, Jacob and Joshua Owen of Danville, and Cierra, Allyson, Gage, and Payton Reed of Oakwood. 4 Great grandchildren, 4 brothers, Junior (Wilma) Sutton, Don (Millie) Sutton, Albert (Freda) Sutton all of Paxton, Larry (Barb) Sutton of Buckley; 3 sisters, Marge Bradford of Bedford,IN, Julie Brown of Fairmount, and Irene Miller of Danville, and her beloved dog, Harley. Ann worked as an In-Home Care Provider for many years. She enjoyed puzzles, reading, and playing games with her sisters and grandkids. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She truly loved her grandkids and they were her life. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 22, 2011 at Sunsets Life Celebration Home, Officiating: Pastor Tim Pearman. Burial to follow at Danville National Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm Thursday at Sunset. Memorials may be made to American Lung Association. Condolences may be sent to the family at: www.sunsetfuneralhome.com.
