Neva Allen

Neva B. Allen, 90, of Danville, passed away at 6:44 pm Wednesday April7, 2004 at North Logan Healthcare Center in Danville. Neva was born June 1, 1913 in Danville the daughter of the late Berkely and Mabel B. (Davis) Woodrum. Neva married Roy L. Allen on December 21, 1935 in Chattanooga, TN he preceded her in death. Survivors include 1 son Robert (Judy) Allen of Danville. 2 brothers Earl and Harlan (Helen) Woodrum both of Danville. 1 sister Esther Hurley of Covington, IN. 2 grandchildren Robert Allen Jr. of Baltimore, MD. and Debi Johnson of Danville. 7 great grandchildren. 4 brothers and 3 sisters preceded Neva in death. Neva was a graduate of West Lebanon High School and Indiana State University with a B.A. in Education. Neva received her Master's Degree in Education from the University of Illinois. Neva worked as an Elementary School Teacher for District 118 for over 20 years. Neva was a member of Central Christian Church where she was a member of the Women's Fellowship. Neva was also a member of the Danville Garden Club, Delta Capa Gamma, and Danville Business Professional Women's Club. Neva enjoyed playing the organ, crocheting, and to travel.
