Nettie L. Strauss

Danville - Nettie L. Strauss, 88, of Danville went to heaven to join her husband Ben and her Lord peacefully on April 13, 2015, in Danville. Nettie Lucille Neal was born on November 10, 1926 to Vera and Ambrose Neal in Metalton, Arkansas. She married Ben Strauss on April 20, 1947, and they enjoyed 67 wonderful years of marriage together. He precedes her in death. Nettie is survived by her children, Deborah Strauss of Murfreesboro TN, and Teresa Strauss of Danville. Nettie is preceded in death by her father Ambrose Neal and her mother and step-father Vera and Ed Gage, and her sister Gertrude Battin of Arkansas. Nettie and her husband Ben managed Lincoln Land Moving and Storage - Danville from 1966 to 1993. Nettie was a proud, devoted, and active member of the First Baptist Church in Danville, and a past President of the Danville Business and Professional Womens Club; she was also a member of the Danville Lioness Club. Nettie was also a compassionate in home care giver. Her special gift throughout her whole life was her ability to humbly serve and care for others. A celebration of life will be held for Nettie Strauss on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home at 2:00 pm with a visitation before the service starting at 1:00 pm. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park after the funeral service.
