Cayuga, Ind. -- Nettie Dixon, 89, a resident of the Heritage House in Clinton, Indiana since November 2006 and formerly of Cayuga, Indiana, passed away at 9:04 a.m. EST Wednesday (February 7, 2007) at West Central Community Hospital in Clinton, Indiana. She was born May 12, 1917, in Lee County, Virginia, the daughter of the late Frank and Rhoda Stiddham Maggard. She married Willie Dixon on November 11, 1933 in Harlen County, Kentucky. He preceded her in death on August 28, 2002. Survivors: two sons, Curtis R.(Reba)Dixon of Clinton, Indiana and David G.(Diane)Dixon of Westmont, Illinois; five grandchidlren; nine great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren; one sister, Virginia Bevins of Port Clinton, Ohio. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Norma Crawford; one brother and one sister. Nettie was a homemaker. She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Ohio. She attended The First Assembly of God Church in Cayuga, Indiana. Nettie enjoyed cooking for her family and tending her home. Funeral services: 11 a.m. EST Saturday, February 10, 2007 at DeVerter Brothers Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Pastor Earl Taylor; Burial: Highland Cemetery in Williamsport, Indiana; Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. EST Friday, February 9, 2007 at the funeral home.
