Nellie Mae Anderson

Rossville-Nellie Mae Anderson, 95, of Rossville passed away at 7:40 pm on Wednesday April 21, 2004 at the Hoopeston Community Nursing Home. She was born on October 7, 1908 in South Homer Township in Champaign County the daughter of Sigel and Edith Leona Wagner Yeazel. She married Edgar J. Anderson on October 7, 1925 in Danville and he preceded her in death on March 20, 1967. Survivors include five daughters: Jean (James) Murray of Rantoul, Barbara Anderson of Danville, Shirley (Donald) Kelley of St. Joseph, Judie (Henry) Dunn of Parkton, MD, and Karen (Ken) Currier of Sparks, MD, three sons: Forrest (Carolyn) Anderson of Rossville, IL, Larry (Joyce) Anderson of Danville and Don (Gayle) Anderson of Las Vegas, NV, two step-sisters: Dorthea Atkinson of Sidell and Violet Yeazel of St. Joseph, 23 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband; Edgar, one sister: Helen Bryant and one brother: Glen Yeazel. Nellie attended Lost Grove School in Allerton, IL. She was a member of the Rossville United Methodist Church, the Farm Bureau Home Extension and the United Methodist Women. Nellie was a homemaker, raising eight children, She enjoyed spending her free time with her family at various gatherings, traveling, crocheting, embroidering, working puzzles, and playing cards as well as other games.
