Nellena Mae See

Tangier, Ind. -- Nellena Mae See, 69, of Tangier, passed away at 4:23 P.M. EST Sunday, November 21, 2010 at Union Hospital Clinton in Clinton, Indiana. She was born October 26, 1941 in Newman, Illinois, the daughter of the late Duane Allena Day Freeman. She married Howard Thomas See on October 1, 1960 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He survives. Other survives include five sons, Thomas A.(Debi)See of Crawfordsville, Indiana; James J.(Charlene)See of Martinsville, Indiana; Douglas D. See of Tangier, Indiana; Michael J.(Mellisa A.)See of Cayuga and Eric A. See of Tangier, Indiana; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two sisters, Grace(Harold)Dickerson of Ozark, Arkansas and Marjorie Gilback of Richmond, Indiana; two brothers, Fred(Janet)Freeman of Cayuga, Indiana and Jess(Jeannie)Freeman of Texas. Nellena was preceded in death by two brothers, Infant Philip Freeman and Jim Freeman. Nellena formerly owned and operated See's Studio in Tangier with her husband. She was a graduate of Hillsdale High School and attended Indiana State University. Nellena enjoyed oil painting, watercolor, the outdoors, hunting for mushrooms and ginseng, raising flowers, listening to music and writing poetry. Funeral services: 2 P.M. EST Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Pastor Carl Huxford; Burial: Rush Creek Cemetery in Tangier, Indiana; Visitation: 11 A.M. EST until time of services Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at the funeral home.
