Nathan Ross, 35 of Seymour, passed away Sunday, March 13, 2016 at 7:45 am. He was born October 14, 1980 in Urbana the son of Steve and Brenda (Freese) Ross. Surviving are his son, Sunni Ross; mother Brenda Ross of Seymour; sister, Cassie (Josh) McConkey of Seymour; nephew and niece Kale and Sophia McConkey; paternal grandmother, Betty Ross of Royal; maternal grandfather, Elmer Freese of Champaign; as well as many other relatives and friends who loved him. He is preceded in death by his father, Steve Ross,maternal grandmother, Esther Freese, and paternal grandfather, Carl Ross. Nathan worked in construction at C.B.E. Construction Inc. He was great at building things, working with his hands, and coming up with new ideas. Nathan was an avid skateboarder. He loved being outdoors, whether it be playing with his son, niece, and nephew or gardening. His son was the light of his life. Nathan had a green thumb and was great at growing plants. He liked things natural and often encouraged his family to eat healthier. He was an organic guru and loved the earth and all it had to offer. Nathan was truly a one of a kind free spirit and thinker. He will be missed dearly by all the people whose lives he touched. Nathan will be cremated and a celebration of his life will be held Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at 6:00 PM at Meadowbrook Community Church, 1902 S. Duncan Road, Champaign with words by Blair Brown and Chuck Carlson. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 4-6 PM at the church.
