Naomi Jean {Turner} Hershberger, 85, of Covington, went to be with her Lord on January 21, 2026 at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette. She was born on July 19, 1940 in Perrysville to the late Hubert and Laura {Snyder} Turner.
A graduate of Perrysville High School, Naomi dedicated her professional life to serving others. She owned Covington Florist, cultivating her passion for floral arrangements while bringing joy to countless individuals. Her commitment to service extended to her role as a server for many years at Maple Corner and at a doctor’s office in Veedersburg. Naomi simply loved people and always sought opportunities to make someone’s day a little bit better, usually through her infectious laughter.
Naomi was a proud member of the Marantha Baptist Church, where her faith was central to her life. She actively volunteered for church events, contributing her time and love to the community that she held dear. Her joys extended beyond her church activities; she also had a keen interest in cooking and antiquing. Above all, Naomi treasured spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Her laughter and spirited personality created an atmosphere filled with joy and fun.
Naomi's legacy is marked by her 67-year marriage to her beloved husband, Roy, a testament to the enduring love and partnership they shared throughout their lives. He survives. Also surviving are their daughters Debbie (Billy) Lowe, Diana (Bill) DeSutter, and Lisa (Steve) Cunningham; her grandchildren Thomas DeSutter, Jeremy (Cody) Lowe, Julie (Levi) Grayson, Logan (Kelli) Cunningham, Landon (Sanya) Cunningham, and Morgan Cunningham; and her great-grandchildren Presley, Elliott, Treydon, Memphis, Clint, Jordan, Barrett, and Walker. Her siblings Sonna (Ronnie) Crowder, Mary Lou Morris, Max Turner, and AnnaBeth Stark survive her as well.
In addition to her parents, Naomi was preceded by her siblings Clarence Turner, Arlene Snyder, and Louie Turner.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2026 from 11 am – 1pm at the Marantha Baptist Church, located at 1111 Harrison Street in Covington, Indiana. A funeral service celebrating her life will immediately follow at 1 pm that day, also at the church. Pastor Kenneth Jones will be officiating. She will be laid to rest at Mt. Hope Cemetery following services. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Marantha Baptist Church.
