Naomi M. Bowen, 82, of Danville, went to join her beloved husband at 7:44 p.m. April 3, 2008 at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center with her family by her side. Naomi was born on January 6, 1926 in Danville, the daughter of Robert N. and Maude E. (Meece) Fairchild. She married Charles Bud Bowen on November 26, 1952 in Champaign. He preceded her in death on March 16, 1996. She is survived by her children- twins Charles Bowen of Danville and Cindy (James) Schomburg of Williamsport, Indiana; one sister- Sarah Junkens of Chrisman; and her lifelong friend- Pat Wyman of Danville. She was preceded in death by her parents and infant sister- Roberta Fairchild. Naomi graduated from Henning High School. She worked as a bookkeeper for several years at Vermilion County Credit Bureau, R & S Printing and Walgreens Accounting. After retiring from Walgreens Accounting she worked part-time at E.B. Collins as a bookkeeper. She was a lifetime member of the Lambda-Tau-Delta Sorority. Naomi always reserved a special place in her heart for kittens and cats and talking about them always brought a smile to her face and a sparkle in her eyes. She loved spending time with her family and always opened her heart and her home to other people. She was a very giving person and always thought of others. Naomi will be sadly missed by everyone who was close to her. A Celebration of the Life of Naomi M. Bowen will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 7, 2008 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Pastor Mike Westcomb officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 " 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park following the service. Memorials may be made to the Home for Friendless Animals P.O.
