Nancy Runner

Nancy A. "Nanc" Runner, 75, of Danville passed away at 11:16 pm on Saturday June 14, 2014 at Presence United Medical Center in Danville, IL. The daughter of John and Blanche (Stuebe) Baum, she was born on September 24, 1938 in Danville. She later married Allen Runner on February 12, 1961, he survives. Also surviving Nancy are her two children James Runner of Danville and Kari (Jeff) Peelman of Danville; six grandchildren - Brandon (Kaylee) Runner, Chad, Tyler and Clara Runner, Alissa and Cody Peelman; three great grandchildren - Liam, Jonah and Aiden Runner. Nancy started her nursing career at the VA hospital in Danville and then began working in the ICU at Lakeview, where she worked for 32 years until her retirement in 2003. She loved to travel, especially ocean cruises. Nanc and Al were even planning a trip to Hawaii in September. Nancy always loved watching her grandchildren play sports and whether it was playing softball or soccer she was there to cheer them on. Nancy loved her family and instilled many great memories that they will cherish forever. A Celebration of Nancys life will be on Thursday June 19, 2014 at 10:30 am at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville. A visitation will take place at the Funeral Home on Wednesday June 18, 2014, from 4-7 pm. Nancys family asks that memorials be made in her name to Lakeview College of Nursing.
