Nancy R. Mcclanahan

Cayuga, Ind. -- Nancy R. McClanahan, 76, of Cayuga, passed away at 1:13 p.m. EST Friday, December 18, 2009 at her residence in Cayuga. She was born October 15, 1933 in Running Water, Texas, the daughter of the late James and Mary Woodall Yowell. She married Earl L. McClanahan on December 23, 1951 in Clovis, New Mexico. He preceded her in death on February 5, 2008. Survivors include two daughters, Terry(David)Cummins of Lewistown, Illinois and Dora Lee(Lonnie)McMurray of Fort Worth, Texas; three sons, Rodney(Judy)McClanahan of Pekin, Illinois; Robert(Tracy)McClanahan of Cayuga, Indiana and Joey(Sarah)McClanahan of Perrysville, Indiana; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one brother, Harold Lloyd Yowell of Whiteside, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by one grandson, Craig Aaron McClanahan; two sisters and two brothers. Nancy was a homemaker. She was a Southern Baptist. Nancy enjoyed bird watching and working word search puzzles. She had a zest for love, life and laughter. Nancy was a saint and the glue to her family and friends. She was caring and giving. Visitation: 3 to 7 p.m. EST Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at the home of Nancy McClanahan, 305 South Eugene, Cayuga, Indiana; There will be no services. Burial of cremains will be at a later date at the Danville National Cemetery in Danville, Illinois. DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana is assisting the family with arrangements.
