Nancy Martin

Nancy Martin, 68, of Westville, passed away at 3:00pm, Saturday, April 7, 2018, at her home. She was born on September 5, 1949, in Danville, IL, the daughter of Luther and Maudie {Newnum} Cheesman, both preceded her in death. Nancy worked in healthcare for almost 30 years as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, Austin & Micaela and her great nephew and niece, Gryphon & Kadence. She enjoyed listening to Gaither music videos, doing word searches & playing cards with family. She will be remembered dearly by all who loved her. She is survived by: her daughter, Heather N. (High) Gritton of Westville; her grandchildren, Austin M. Gritton of Westville & Micaela N. Gritton of Greenville, GA; her brother, Bob (Judy) Cheesman, Dave (Malinda) Cheesman, & Rick (Tammie) Cheesman; and her sisters, Tonya (David) Miller, Linda (Kenny) O'Banion, & Vivian (Bob) Powell. She was preceded in death by: her life partner, Gerald "Jerry" High; her brothers, Luther "Butch" Cheesman, Danny Cheesman, Gary Cheesman; and her sister, Phyllis (Cheesman) Powell; her half-brother, Marvin "Charlie Brown" Cheesman; and her sister-in-law, Mary Cheesman. A celebration of Nancy's life will be held at 10:00am, Thursday, April 12, 2018, at Sunset's Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E. West Street, Georgetown, with Ryan Harris officiating. Visitation will be held 5:00pm-7:00pm, Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery, Indianola.
