Nancy 'Liz' Brown

Nancy "Liz" Elizabeth Brown, 82, of Catlin, left this life to be with the Lord at 2:45 pm Saturday November 13, 2004 at Provena USMC Logan Campus. Nancy was born February 22, 1922 in Tazewell, VA the daughter of the late Warner and Addie Josephine Lambert. Liz married Charles "Brownie" Edwin Brown in April of 1946 in Danville and then settled in Catlin, "Brownie" preceded her in death on March 5, 1992. Survivors include 2 son's Daniel Brown of Danville and Patrick Brown of Pontiac, IL 1 daughter Nancy Jane Brown of California. 2 foster son's Kenneth Thorndyke of Panama City Beach, FL and David Tyler of Catlin, along with many other foster children. 3 grandchildren Jessie Lynn (Jason) Brown of Catlin,, Kenndra Leigh (Adam) Croyl of Okinawa, Japan and James Edward Thorndyke, and 3 great grandchildren Cassie, Andria Brown and Braydon Croyl. 1 brother Johnny and 3 sister's Louise, Jackie, and Ruby preceded her in death. Nancy served her country in the US Marines during WWII in Aircraft Transport and as a mechanic. Nancy enjoyed gardening, children and yard sales. As a foster parent many children were given a loving home. Special friends include Helen Carpenter, Norma Selsor, Gina Ford, and Wayne Long.
