Nancy Lee Wehr

Nancy Lee Wehr, 76, of Newport, IN, passed away at 5:09pm, Monday, June 26, 2023, at Union Hospital, Terre Haute, IN. She was born on February 12, 1947, in Hillsdale, IN, the daughter of Charles David and Mabel L. {Southard} Norman, Sr. She was united in marriage to Ronald Wehr on April 28, 2011, in Kentucky. He will miss her dearly. She will also be missed by her brothers, Dave (Vanessa) Norman, Jr., of Terre Haute, IN, and James A. (Gay) Norman of Newport, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Mary Dougherty; and her nephew, Teddy. Nancy graduated from North Vermilion High School in 1966. She retired as a self-employed truck driver after 27 years along with her husband, Ronald. She was a member of the Eastern Star Pimento 576 and the Newport American Legion Auxiliary Unit 184. She enjoyed many pastimes, including coloring, playing Bunco and bingo, and doing puzzles, as well as playing with her special pet Boston Terriers. She loved spending time with her many nieces and nephews and extended family. Graveside services will be held at 1:00pm (EST), Thursday, June 29, 2023, at Thomas Cemetery, Newport, Indiana with Pastor Matt Filicsky officiating. Her arrangements were entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center, DeVerter Chapel, 215 N. Division Street, Cayuga, IN 47928.
