Nancy Jo Smart

Nancy Jo Smart, 81, passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville, IL. She was born on November 28, 1940 the daughter of Wilmer and Dorotha Jarling in Danville, IL.

Nancy leaves behind her husband of 60 years, Clark Smart Jr.; their son, Rodney (Jackie) Smart; two grandchildren, Maxeen Smart and Addison (Mackenzie) Smart; a brother, Douglas (Christy) Jarling; and sister-in-law, Sandy Jarling.

Nancy is preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Larry "Punker" Smart and Todd Smart; and brother Larry Jarling.

Nancy was one with the Lords angels, she was a collector that loved angels in all forms. She enjoyed crocheting and sewing, she was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, and was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Danville. Nancy was part owner of Jarlings Custard Cup in Danville. She especially loved spending time with her family and attending her grandchildrens sporting events. She had a kind heart and formed an impression on everyone she met. She will be greatly missed by all.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 17, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 18, 2022, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 824 E Main St., Danville, IL 61832, with additional visitation one hour prior to the service. Officiating will be Pastor Kent Tibben. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery in Danville.
