Nancy Jo Boyd

Nancy Jo Boyd, 83, a resident of the Bickford of Crawfordsville and formerly of Westville, passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2023, at the Bickford of Crawfordsville.

She was born May 17, 1940, in Danville, IL., daughter of the late Roy and Norma (Staggs) Patten.

She married John "Jay" Boyd on September 20, 1958, and they celebrated 60 years of marriage together before he preceded her in death on April 30, 2019.

Nancy is survived by her son: Daniel (Irma Williams) Boyd Sr., of Danville, IL; her grandchildren: Daniel (Bree) Boyd Jr., of Georgetown, IL., her great-grandchildren: Jaydan Boyd and Mia Boyd; her brother: David (Joy) Patten of Danville, IL; her nieces and nephews; and her fathers second wife: Rita Patten

Nancy was a graduate of Catlin High School and a longtime member of the Community Church of God. Her love of art and design shined through in both her personal life and professional life. She started working at Dowers Studio where she did oil-based portraits. She later went on to work for Inland Supply Company as a secretary and clerk. Wanting to get back to a more creative job, she then went on to work for JC Penny as Head of Display where she would travel to decorate the stores for each season. At home she could be found painting various flowers and fruit on small pieces of wood. Above all, Nancy loved her family and the precious time she spent with them.

A Celebration of Life for Nancy will be held at 11AM on Monday, December 18, 2023, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion Street Danville, IL 61834 with Pastor James Blue officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 10-11AM on Monday, December 18, 2023, at the funeral home.
