Nancy Ann Gallion

Nancy Ann Gallion, 80, of Westville, Illinois, passed away peacefully with her family at her side Saturday December 28, 2024. Nancy was born November 6, 1944, the daughter of William and Ernestine (Vivier) Talbert. Nancy married James (Jim) Lee Gallion on August 14, 1965, at Saint Mary’s in Westville, Illinois. They had 56 years together until Jim’s passing on September 17, 2021.

Her son Chris (LeAnn) Gallion survives along with grandchildren; Kendra (Eric) Hepburn, Jacob Gallion, and Morgan (Wesley) Arthur, great grandchildren; Lillian JoAnn Hepburn, and Parker James Michael Hepburn.

Nancy is preceded in death by her husband Jim, her father and mother William and Ernestine Talbert and her father and mother-in-law Sherman and Josephine (Verando) Gallion.

Nancy graduated from Westville Township High School in 1962. She was employed by Trinity United Church of Christ for 50 plus years as administrative assistant, where she also served as a dedicated member of the congregation, serving on several committees. Sunday school and bible school teacher, and always volunteering for church events. She also worked at Carter Lumber in Westville as a bookkeeper for ten years. Nancy also was a den mother for a period of time for Westville Cub Scout Troop 249. She was also a member of Westville’s original Boosters Club. In 2014 Nancy had the honor of being named the Grand Marshall of the Westville’s Labor Day Parade. 

A memorial Service will be held at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Westville, Illinois, 414 S State Street, on Monday January 6, 2025, at 11 am. With Reverand Connie Tapp Bandy officiating. Cremation rights will be accorded per Nancy’s wishes. Memorial donations may be made to Trinity United Church of Christ in Nancy’s name.
