Nancy Ann Dyer, 66, of Danville, passed away at 12:05 a.m. on Sunday, April 6, 2008 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. Nancy was born September 25, 1941, in Worcester, MA, the daughter of Andrew Theodore and Frances Gertrude (Giles) Ringoen. She married Charles Francis Dyer, Jr. on August 29, 1964 in Worcester, MA. He survives. Nancy is survived by two sons, Charles William (Heather) Dyer of Brownsburg, IN and Kenneth Andrew (Dawn) Dyer of Carmel, IN; a daughter, Karen Lynn (Steven) Gastrau of Wauwatosa, WI; a brother, Alan Andrew Ringoen of Danville; an uncle, Alfred Crommet of Shrewsbury, MA and eight grandchildren, Steven, Brent, Katie, Emily, Sydney, Cameron, Addyson, and Ella. She was preceded in death by her parents and her aunt, Betty Jane Crommet. Nancy worked at Lakeview Memorial Hospital as a 3rd shift medical- surgical nurse for 25 years before retiring in 2000. She was an active member of Bethel Lutheran Church where she sang in the church choir and taught crafts at VBS. Nancy had previously sang in the Vermilion Chorus and currently was the president of the Danville Art League. She enjoyed bowling, fishing, and training Labrador Retrievers. Nancy will be remembered by her family as a hopeful and loving person who loved to give big hugs and help other people. A celebration of Nancy Ann Dyers life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, April, 10, 2008 at Bethel Lutheran Church with Pastor Edward Stone officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion Street in Danville.
