Nancy Casey

Nancy Casey CHAMPAIGN - Nancy C. Casey, 74, of Champaign passed away on Tuesday morning (Aug. 11, 2015) at her home, surrounded by her family. Born on Nov. 13, 1940, in Cincinnati, Ohio, she was the daughter of Clyde and Pearl (Tetrick) Satterfield. She married Clyde Demitt, and he preceded her in death. For the last 20 years, she has been married to Clarence Casey. Nancy was a very generous person, always caring for those who needed help. She provided inhome care, and cared for people in many different capacities and facilities over the years. She enjoyed helping people. But Nancy's most important job was raising her four girls. Her family was very important to her; everything revolved around them. She will be deeply missed by all. She is survived by her husband, Clarence; her four daughters, Sharon (Grant) Sloniger of Champaign, Sheila (Tom) Barnard of Champaign, Jenny (Sam) Rhodes of Urbana and Rhonda (Ray) Herrington of Paris; one brother, Ron (Rosie) Satterfield of Deer Park, Ohio; and five grandchildren, Garrett and Cameron Barnard, Katie and Cole Sloniger and RJ Harrington. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Clyde Demitt; and a brother, Jack Satterfield. A memorial service for Nancy will take place at a later date near her hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio. She will be buried beside her parents in Edwardsville Cemetery. Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Sunset Funeral Home, 710 N. Neil St., Champaign.
