Nancy Ann Covington

Nancy Ann Covington, 76, of Georgetown, passed away at 9:45pm, Friday, August 28, 2020, at Gardenview Manor Nursing Home, Danville. She was born on December 31, 1943, in Burdette, Arkansas, the daughter of Carl and Ovella {Tomlin} McGarrity, both deceased. She was united in marriage to Jerry Covington on December 30, 1966 until his passing on January 8, 2006. Those who will miss her include: her children, Ed (Janis) Carlock of Danville, Harry (Darlene) Covington of West Lebanon, IN, Carla (Tom) Kohl of Georgetown, Maria (Johnny) Collins of Georgetown, and Ron Clark of Georgetown, whom she raised; her 14 grandchildren, Jeremy Carlock, Alysha Trammell, Daniel Carlock, Joshua Johnson, Jesse Carlock, Wyatt Covington, Cassie Collins, Jonathon Collins, Trinity Collins, Amber Lutz, Tisha Pratt, Shyann Clark, Michael Sellars, & Devin Sellars; her 15 great grandchildren; her 3 special cousins, Joyce, Debbie, & Doretta; and her dog, Angel. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Jerry. Nancy worked for many years at the VA in Danville as a Licensed Practical Nurse until her retirement in 2006. She loved to paint and travel. She also enjoyed going camping and was known to be an enthusiastic dancer. Nancy loved her dogs, but her grandchildren were her life and she cherished them all. A Memorial Service will be held 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Tuesday, September 8, 2020, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Georgetown, Illinois 200 E. West St. Georgetown, Illinois 61846. It is kindly requested that face masks be worn, and social distancing is practiced by those in attendance of the visitation. She will be laid to rest in Rest Haven Cemetery, Lafayette, Indiana.
