Danville- Myrtle Margaret Hinkle, 81, of Danville passed away at 3:08 PM on Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville. She was born on December 18, 1928 in Danville to Louis and Dorothy Snyder Pichon. She married her husband of 61 years, Gene Robert Hinkle, on May 27, 1950 in Danville. He survives. Also surviving are two sons Louis Lou (Laurie Kegley) Hinkle of Danville and Bradley Robert Hinkle of Milwaukee, OR; daughter Lisa Margaret (Rob Mosier) Boen of Indianola; daughter in law Karen Austero; three brothers Raymond (Donna) Pichon of Westville, Kenny (Patsy) Pichon of Oakwood, and Frank (Pat) Pichon of Danville; four grandchildren Lacey Renee Hinkle, Jena Marie Boen, Jacob Alan Dean Boen, and Kody Hinkle; and special friend Barb Dimmitt. She was preceded in death by son Greg Alan Hinkle, two sisters Esther (Charles) Schackmann and Pearl (Herman) Lynn, and special friends John and Patty Yerem. Myrtle had worked at Kresges in Danville for several years before leaving to be with her family. She belonged to the Women of the Moose and TOPS and enjoyed square dancing with Gene, which they did for over 20 years. She also enjoyed the opportunity to watch her granddaughters Lacey and Jenna before they went to school, but loved spending time with all of her grandchildren. Myrtle liked playing euchre, canning vegetables from the garden, and cooking. A service to celebrate the life of Myrtle Hinkle will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 23, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville. Pastors Charlie Strange and Curtis Darling will officiate. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Danville. Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM on Friday, October 22 also at Sunset in Danville.
