Myrna Barney

Myrna Barney, 81, of Westville, passed away at 1:35pm, Sunday, January 15, 2017, at Danville Care Nursing Home. She was born the daughter of Clifton and Irene {Bowman} Ledbetter on April 16, 1935, in Attica, Indiana. She leaves behind: her sons, Steve "Butch" Barney of Covington, IN, and John W. Barney of Danville; her daughter, Christine D. (Ron) Tatman of Belgium, IL; her seven grandchildren; her 6 great grandchildren; her sister, Pat Duryea of Weatherford, TX; and her brothers, Russell Kight of Danville and Allen Ledbetter of Portland, OR. She was preceded in death by: her parents; her son, David; her daughters, Debbie and her brother, Buddy. Myrna worked as a Nurse at Vermilion County Health Center for 20 years. She was also responsible for creating the first Viet Nam Center at the Danville Veterans Administration. She enjoyed reading and baking. Myrna also enjoyed learning about the Native American Religion. She also appreciated music and loved Rock-n-Roll. She was a big fan of the Wayne Jenkins Band. Her contributions and caring will be remembered fondly by all those whose life she touched. A Celebration of Myrna's life will be held from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Friday January 20, 2017, at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, 414 S. State St., Westville. Per her wishes, she will be cremated. Memorial donations may be given in her name to Transitions Hospice Care. Please join her family in sharing memories through her Tribute Wall at www.sunsetfuneralhome.com.
