Morris Lee Pilkington, 81, of Tilton, passed away at 8:40am on Thursday, September 15, 2011 at his residence. He was born on November 27, 1929, in Indianapolis, Indiana, the son of Clarence and Merna (Krout) Pilkington. Both are deceased. Lee is survived by his former wife, Ellen (Boswell), four sons; Mike (Darcia) Pilkington of Danville, Tom (Penny) Pilkington of Danville, Jeff Pilkington (James Williams), both of Danville, Greg Pilkington, and two daughters; Billie (Daune) Pollitt of Danville, and Kim Mauck, also of Danville. His ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one brother; Mervin (Carmen) Pilkington of St. Joseph, IL, and one sister; Jean Geravat of Peoria, IL, also survives Lee. In addition to his parents, one son; Daniel Pilkington, and six siblings preceded Lee in death. He joined the United States Marine Corp in 1948, and received various medals for his involvement in the Korean Conflict, being honorable discharged in 1952. After the service, Lee worked for various construction companies, retiring from Local #703. Lee enjoyed mushroom hunting, playing poker, and spending time with his family, He will be missed by all that knew him. A Memorial Celebration for Morris Lee Pilkington has been scheduled for 2:00pm on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home located at 3940 N. Vermilion Street in Danville with inurnment to take place at Danville National Cemetery. Per his wishes, cremation rites will be performed at Sunset's on-site crematory under the immediate direction of Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home. In lieu of flowers, the Pilkington family has asked that any donation be made to the Korean War Memorial.
