Morris Dale Pearman, 84, of Georgetown, passed away at 4:29am, Thursday, June 5, 2014, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on December 12, 1929, in Indianola, IL, the son of Benjamin and Elsie {Lanham} Pearman. He was united in marriage to Patricia Cook on October 15, 1950, in Georgetown. She will miss him dearly. He will also be missed by: his daughter, Cheryl Pearman of Georgetown; his son, Curt Pearman of Hillsboro, IL; his grandchildren, Travis (Melissa) Pearman of Catlin, Heather (Donny) Marrow of Westville, & Sonny Pearman of Georgetown; his great grandchildren, Sam & Libby Pearman, Ava & Aleah Marrow, and Isabella Pearman; and his brothers, Arnold Pearman of Indianola, Cloyd (Cathy) Camplin of Ottawa, & Bob (Betty) Thomas of Indianola. He was preceded in death by his parents and several brothers & sisters. Dale was a proud Veteran serving in the US Navy. In his early years, Dale worked for Beards Dairy located east of Georgetown and delivered milk to Producers Dairy in Danville. He later worked for and retired from General Motors after 30 years of service where he drove a lift truck, worked in the stockroom, & was a time-keeper. Dale was a member of the Vermilion Grove Friends Church & a Sunday School teacher. He took interest in the Georgetown youth by coaching baseball. He was an avid Chicago Bears fan, as well as, the Cubs. He also rooted for the Illini teams. Dale was often seen working in his yard and took pride in it. Dale enjoyed sitting in the swing in their yard with the love of his life, Pat. His contagious smile will be missed by all. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am, Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at Vermilion Grove Friends Church with Pastor Jim Walker officiating. Visitation will be 10:00am - 11:00am Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at the church. As per his wishes, Dale was cremated and will be laid to rest in Forest Park Cemetery immediately following the service. Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home assisted his family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dales name to Vermilion Grove Friends Church.
