Morris Lee Chesnut, 84, went to be with his Lord and Savior on July 27, 2025, at his home after a battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. Morris was born in Sidney, Illinois, on November 22, 1940, and he resided his entire life in Illinois, primarily in Ridge Farm.

He married Lois D. Hartman in Dana, Indiana, on September 16, 1962, blessing them 62 years of marriage and love. Morris and Lois have four children: Joyce (John) McMillion of Argenta, Karen (Glen) Stahl of Tolono, Alan (Leesa) Chesnut of Ridge Farm, and Jennifer (Brad) Logue of Liberty, Indiana.

They have fifteen grandchildren: Adam Chesnut, Kaleb (Ella) McMillion, Madison (Jonathan) Hayes, Garrett (Cheyenne) McMillion, Adrik McMillion, Keaghan McMillion, Ashley (Josiah) Lemay, Natalie Stahl, Alex Stahl, Gavin Chesnut, Blake Chesnut, Colin Chesnut, Lewis Chesnut, Rhett Logue, and Eli Logue. They have eight great grandchildren.

Morris was a lifelong farmer with a love for the land. He shared his knowledge with all who asked. He faithfully pastored Ridge Farm Bible Church for several decades.  Morris was active in Vermilion County Farm Bureau. He taught Bible studies and assisted at youth camps for many years, helping to share the love of Christ with others. His hobbies included woodworking and his model trains.

Morris is preceded in death by his parents, M Ray and Ruth (nee Leerkamp) Chesnut; an older brother, Jimmy; a granddaughter, Megan Stahl; brothers-in-law, Cy Hubbard and Lenny Cremeans.

The family would like to send a special thank you to the caregivers: Karyn, Michele, Tassie, Bobbie, Kelly, and Hospice nurse Tonya.
