Monty Smith

Monty Smith, 45, of Danville passed this life on Sunday, February 18, 2007 at his residence. Monty was born on June 20, 1961 in Danville son of Montelle and Harriett Walker Smith. Survivors include his father and four siblings: Melody (Don) Gross of Danville, Ken (Charlene) Smith of Marysville, WA, Dee (Jeff) Grubb of Urbana, and Dawn (Doug) Nord of Danville; six nieces, five nephews, four great nieces, five great nephews, and several aunts & uncles; a special friend Gene of Seattle WA. He was preceded in death by his mother on January 29 of this year and two nephews. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Iran Hostage Crisis, enjoyed his computer and loved his cat Licorice, but most of all loved spending time with his nieces & nephews. Montys wishes were to be cremated and returned to Seattle where he spent a majority of his life during and after serving in the Navy. Arrangements will be handled by Sunsets Community & Life Tribute Center. Memorials may be in Montys name to the Danville Cancer Center.
