Monty David Sanders, a devoted family man, Navy veteran, and lover of the outdoors, passed away on June 14, 2026, in Peoria, Illinois. Born on January 30, 1960, in Alabama, Monty lived a life marked by dedication, adventure, and close family bonds.
Monty's early years in Alabama shaped his lifelong passion for nature. He found profound joy in fishing, hunting, and camping, with Sullivan serving as his favorite retreat where he could fully immerse himself in the beauty and tranquility of the wilderness. These pursuits not only brought him peace but also became treasured moments he shared with those he loved.
Monty is survived by his three sons, including John Lowe, who carry forward his legacy of strength and compassion. He also leaves behind a brother and two sisters, along with a special sister-in-law, Mel Huron, all of whom will deeply miss his presence, guidance, and unwavering support.
He is proceeded in death by his parents John and Janet Sanders
