Monica Lynn Vanvactor Coffing

Monica Lynn VanVactor Coffing, 49, of Covington, passed away at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday August 22, 2006 at her home after fighting breast cancer for 12 years. She was born October 31, 1956 in Danville the daughter of Bill A. and Norma Roman Van Vactor. She married Jim Coffing on October 28, 2000 in Covington, he survives, also her parents Bill and Norma of Covington, one son; AJ Wilson of Covington, three step-sons; Chad (Amanda) Coffing of Waynetown, In, Brad (Jennifer) Coffing of Hillsboro, In, Joshua Coffing of Covington, one step-daughter; Kinsey Coffing of Veedersburg, In, two brothers; JC VanVactor and Eric (Penny) VanVactor both of Covington, three grandchildren; Trey, Cameron and Bailey Coffing, and her grandmother, Thelma Powell of Covington, IN; and several aunts and uncles. She was preceded in death by her grandparents. Monica was a 1974 graduate of Covington High School and later graduated from Dental School. She was currently an accountant for VanVactor Oil Company in Covington. Monica enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, Baking, feeding her hummingbirds and her pets. She made the best sugar cookies and always shared them with the staff at Carle Oncology Dept. After almost 12 years the bravest lady in our lives died at her beloved home. She fought breast cancer and later heart failure with the most uncomplaining attitude. Monica always had a smile for everyone; she was an inspiration to all of us, her family, her friends and her fellow patients at Carle Oncology. She wanted to see her son AJ graduate from high school and she did and thru one year at DACC and the start of the new school year. She will be missed very much by all of us. Monica was beautiful in Body, mind and spirit. As per her wishes she will be cremated. A celebration of life memorial service for Monica will be 10:00 a.m. Illinois time Saturday August 26, 2006 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center. Officiating will be Pastor Doug McCord. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be in Sunset Mausoleum. In leiu of flowers memorials may be made in Monicas name for AJ Wilson college fund c/o Bill VanVactor P.O.
