Mona Louise Smith

Mona Louise Smith, 74, of Danville, passed away at 9:06 p.m. Thursday, August 11th, 2011 at Vermilion Manor Nursing Home. Mona was born on June 26th, 1933, in Pendleton, Indiana, the daughter of Theodore and Mary (Lockhart) Kegeris. She married Jack Smith on June 6th, 1955, in Danville. He preceded her in death on February 22nd, 2001. She is survived by a son- Chad (Toni) Smith of Iowa; three daughters- Cindy (Dan) Cunningham of Bismarck, Chiquita (Kevin) Cunningham of Danville and Katrina Smith of Danville; brother- Larry Kegeris of Danville; sister- Ruth (Jack) Keele of Danville; nine grandchildren- Jason (Susan) Cunningham, Megan (Heath) Leake, Kristen Hocking, Nicole Ebersole, Emilie Cunningham, Trace Cunningham, Hannah Smith, Justin Smith and Ethan Smith; four great-grandchildren- Adisyn Leke, Hayden Leake, Peyton Hocking and Kylan Cunningham; niece- Brenda (Bruce) Biage of Danville; nephews-John Rouse, Tony Rouse and Greg Rouse; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, half sister and two brothers. Mona worked for General Electric for several years. She attended Central Christian Church in Danville. She enjoyed country music, movies, cats and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Private family services were held at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, a Life Celebration Home.
