Mitzi Lynn Benard, 53, of Danville, IL, formerly of Glendale, IL, passed away Sunday, December 15, 2013 at 9:35 AM at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. She was born on February 12, 1960 in Eldorado, IL, the daughter of Thomas and Lola La Fern (Schuchardt) Trovillion. She will be deeply missed by her mother, Fern Trovillion Burnside of Danville, IL, her children, Emma (Jeff) Mears of Vienna, IL, Abby Benard and Tyler Moore of Glendale, IL, and Kyle Benard of Glendale, IL, two granddaughters, Kennadi Jeffords and Chasey Mears, one brother, Scott (Mary) Trovillion of Glendale, IL, two step brothers, William B. (Michelle) Burnside of Kansas, IL, Tyler Burnside of Portland, OR, and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Mitzi was preceded in death by her father, one step father, William C. Burnside and one step sister, Bindi Giovinco. Mitzi was a 1982 graduate of Illinois State University, earning her Bachelors of Science degree. When health permitted Mitzi attended the Danville Alliance Church and always looked forward to her weekly Bible studies. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and reading. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. A celebration of Mitzis life will be held on Friday, December 20, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the Glendale United Methodist Church in Glendale, IL with Pastor Ken Cameron officiating. A visitation will be held from 12:00-1:00 PM Friday at the church prior to the service. Interment will be at a later date. Memorials can be made in Mitzis name to the National Eating Disorder Association; 165 West 46th Street New York, NY 10036. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, IL and Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna, IL. Condolences can be made at www.baileyfh.com
