Danville - Minnie Louise Howe, 95, of Danville, passed into the arms of Jesus, her Lord and Savior at 1:45 PM on Saturday, March 22, 2014. She was born August 15, 1918 in Danville, Illinois, the daughter of William Carl Waterstredt and Lydia (Papke) LaMar. She married Arthur L. Howe on February 12, 1949, in Danville, Illinois. She is survived by her son, Donald (Marlene) Howe of Lakewood, Washington; daughters, Patricia (Roger) Bray, Mary (Albert) Kile, Barbara (Jimmy) Dietz of Danville; grandchildren, Michelle Ogle, Stephanie Joseph, James Howe, Troy Bray, Jason Bray, Jennifer Kile, Brandi Welsch, Amy Howe and Brent Smith; and numerous great and great-great grandchildren. Minnie is also survived by her long time and most-cherished friend, Hilda Wangler, and two very special boys, Lance and Bradley Kile. She was preceded in death by her father, William, her mother Lydia, her brother Wilbert Waterstredt, her step-father Robert LaMar, and her husband, Arthur. Minnie loved the Lord; she was a devout Christian woman her entire life. She was a charter member of Southside Church of the Nazarene and attended services faithfully until her health declined. She loved her church family. She loved reading her Bible, which she did faithfully until her eyesight failed. Minnie was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a compassionate and loving woman and her passing will forever leave a void in the lives of anyone that was fortunate enough to know her. She was retired from ATI. The family would like to send their heartfelt thanks to Whitestar Home Health Agency and Presence Hospice for making her last days peaceful and pain-free. She truly loved each and every one of you. A service to celebrate the life of Minnie Howe will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville. Reverend William Wiggins will officiate. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Danville. Visitation will be held from 10 -11 AM prior to the services on Wednesday, also at Sunset in Danville. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Whitestar Home Health Agency, 108 N. Vermilion St., Danville, IL 61832.
