Mildred Strebin, 78, of Cullom, IL, passed away at 10:20am on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at the EvenGlow Lodge in Pontiac, IL. She was born on September 30, 1930, in Alton Station, Kentucky, the daughter of Fred and Mildred (Mifflin) Heinzman. On October 12, 1946, Mildred married Mr. Charles W. Strebin in Potomac. He preceded her in death in August 1999. Survivors include one son, Charles (Sharon) Strebin of Danville, one daughter, Linda (Wayne) Gibson of Cullom, 4 grandchildren, Todd (Leah) Strebin, Troy Strebin, both in the U.S. Navy, Jennifer (Tom) White of Catlin, and Jason (Shawna) Gibson of Cullom. Her ten great-grandchildren, Kolby Strebin, Kristopher Smith, Gloria Bearce, Amy Strebin, Shyan Strebin, Mark Strebin, Brooklyn White, Aiden White, Noah Gibson, Sabrina Gibson, and her sister, Ludine Cravens of Kentucky, also survive Mildred. Her parents, brother, Jack Heinzman, and sister, Dorothy Brown preceded Mildred in death. Mildred enjoyed fishing, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and attending all of their sporting events. A Celebration of Mildreds Life will begin at 2:00pm on Saturday, June 20, 2009 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center located at 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville with Pastor William Patton officiating and internment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
