Mildred Ann Rodgers, 84, of Danville, died at 3:40 P.M. on Wednesday, February 9, 2005 at Provena United Samaritans Hospital in Danville. She was born June 14, 1920 in Gifford, Illinois, the daughter of Dr. Frank L. and Elsie (Dearing) Edenburn. She married Willis "Bill" Langford on November 20, 1945 in Oakwood, Illinois. Willis preceded her in death. She later married Jessie Rodgers in July of 1967 at Waukegan, Illinois. Jessie also preceded her in death. She is survived by: 1 Son-Melvin Langford of Danville; 2 Daughters- Marilyn(Roger) Anker of Oakwood, Illinois and Marla (Jay) Garrett of Danville, Illinois; 1 Sister- Mabra Jean (Wayne) Scott of Oakwood, Illinois; 5 Grandchildren- Erika Langford, Michelle(Jeff)Evans, Connie (David) Young, Ken (Julie) Dittmar, and John (Christy) Gonzalez; 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, 1 Brother- Melvin E. Edenburn; 2 Sisters- Melvina Evans and Maxine Edenburn; and 1 grandson- Joshua Adam. Mildred worked as a school teacher at Gorman School, Oakwood Grade School for 21 years, Douglas Grade School 4 years, and retired from Danville High School. After retiring Mildred owned and worked in her ceramic shop. She was a member of the 80's ladies group; past matron of the Order of the Eastern Star in 1945 at Oakwood; Member of Danville Education Association and the Illinois Education Association; She was very involved in the Holiday Hills Free Methodist Church and helped in working with the meals on wheels. Mildred also enjoyed ceramics, knitting and quilting. Per her wishes she will be cremated.
