Mildred Pepping Roberts, 93, of Tilton, passed away at 8:43 p.m. est., August 5, 2009 at The Waters of Covington and joined her beloved husband, grandson and other family. Mildred was born on March 15, 1916, in Mokena, Illinois, the daughter of James Henry and Matilda (Felgenhauer) Pepping. Mildred was the second of eight children. She married Earl Allen Roberts on December 24, 1937 in Covington, Indiana. He preceded her in death. She is survived by two sons- Phil (Linda) Roberts of Three Rivers, Michigan and Bruce (Debbie) Roberts of Danville; two sisters- Mary Lourdeau of Danville and Norma Snider of Georgetown; two grandsons- Joshua (Angelica) Roberts of Grand Rapids, Michigan and Justin (Dawn) Roberts of Danville; and great-grandson- Caleb Roberts and unborn great-granddaughter- Carlie Roberts. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant son- Larry Roberts, grandson- Joel Roberts, three brothers- Harry Pepping, Louis Pepping and Donald Pepping, and two sisters- Clara Lehman-Harris and Evelyn Molder. Mildred worked at General Electric in Danville and retired after 17 years of service. She was a member of the G.E. Union and United Church of Christ in Tilton. She enjoyed working outside, watching T.V., cooking, spending time with her grandchildren and volunteering at CRIS Senior Services for several years, where she made several friends. She will be missed by her family and friends. A Celebration of the Life of Mildred Roberts will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 10, 2009 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, with Pastor Dan Huffine officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Sunset Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to CRIS Senior Services.
