Danville, Ill. - Mildred L. Potter, 82, passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2012, in her home surrounded by family. "Millie" was born on November 24, 1930, to Nancy C.(Lunceford) and Charles P. Goodwin, in Silverwood, Indiana. Millie married Lyndol Potter and settled near Henning, Illinois. She attended Cates School and was a 1948 graduate of Kingman High School and a graduate of the Lakeview College of Nursing. She retired from the V.A. Hospital in Danville, Illinois. Millie enjoyed fishing in Canada, mushrooming, cross stitch, sewing and arts and crafts. She was an avid reader and deeply loved her family. Millie was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, three sisters, one niece and two nephews. She is survived by four daughters, Donna Eldred(J.C.) of Brenham, Texas; Carol Newell of Hanna City, Illinois; Gayle Arrowsmith(Dave) of Westville, Illinois and Kriss Overby of Tilton, Illinois; eight grandchildren: Sarah Hathaway(Brad); Elizabeth Davis(Justin), Amy Cockrell, Benjamin Newell(Jennifer), Chad Cockrell(Kim), Brad Cockrell, Megan Cockrell and Matthew Overby, and ten great grandchildren: Kaylee Pritchett, Duncan Hathaway, Kelsey Blackford, Alexis Davis, Grace Hathaway, Jordan Davis, Lane Hathaway, Maggie Newell, Kalena Bruce and Sebestian Newell. A special recognition goes to "number five", Linda Cantu, for endearing love and friendship for Millie. Funeral services: 11 a.m. EST Saturday, December 15, 2012 at DeVerter Funeal Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Ken Majors; Burial: Miller Cemetery near Lodi, Indiana; Visitation: 6 to 9 p.m. EST Friday, December 14, 2012 at the funeral home. Pallbearers are Benjamin Newell, Brad Hathaway, Chad Cockrell, Brad Cockrell, Justin Davis and Matthew Overby.
