Oakwood - Mildred L. Lomax, 93, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 23, 2015 at 8:30 p.m. at Presence United Samaritans Hospital in Danville. Mildred was born the daughter of Charles and Ida Mabry on August 20, 1921 in Champaign, Illinois. Mildred married George Lomax on August 19, 1968. He precedes her in death. Mildred is survived by her children Peggy L. (Dan) Jinkins of Bryan, OH, Judith F. Rennaker of Covington, IN, and Shirley A. (Robert Sr.) Harper of Danville, and her daughter-in-law Deborah Pryor; siblings Frank (Eudora) Mabry, Zona Schafer, and Charles Mabry; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Mildred is preceded in death by her parents Charles and Ida, her sons Roger E. Pryor, and James R. and Astrid Pryor, and six siblings. Mildred was an avid reader, and especially liked getting cook books. She was a crafty lady who was a talented seamstress and gardener. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and canning. She loved worshipping at Oakwood Christian Church and was a devoted mother and grandmother. Her favorite past time was baking cookies for her grandchildren. A celebration of Mildreds life will be at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday February 28, 2015 at Sunsets Oakwood Chapel. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on the same day.
