Mildred J. (Haurez) Hamick, 78, of Danville passed away at 11:45 a.m. Friday, February 4, 2005. She was born in Batestown on May 19, 1926 to Leon E. and Clemence G. (Gerin) Haurez. She married Elwood "Woody" Hamick on March 8, 1944 in Vermilion Heights. He survives. Mildred is also survived by three daughters, Dianne S. (Daniel) Farber of Oakland, CA, Joann E. Hamick (Joe Quintana) of Seattle, WA and Melissa J. Hamick of Danville and nine grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Sam J. Hamick, two brothers, Joseph Haurez and Henry Haurez, and three sisters, Laurie Haurez, Marie Elwell and Marguerite Zarse. Mildred was a legal secretary for Norton-Sadler Law Offices. She enjoyed civil war history and genealogy. She also enjoyed painting, sewing, quilting and crafts and traveled all 50 states and Europe. She was the daughter of French speaking Belgian immigrants and had a lot of pride in her Belgian heritage.
