Mildred Irene Powell

Mildred Irene Powell, 92, of Danville, passed away at 3:00am, Monday, December 2, 2013, at Pleasant Meadows Christian Village, Chrisman. She was born on July 21, 1921, the daughter of Benjamin and Effie Powell, both deceased. Mildred was a member of the Cedar Grove Nazarene Church. She worked by ironing clothes and had also worked in the laundry room at Lakeview Hospital. She enjoyed reading the Bible, sewing, & doing crossword puzzles. She will be missed by: her brother, Ralph (Donna) Powell of Georgetown; her special niece, Lisa (Jeff) Alspaugh of Georgetown; and many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by five sisters & two brothers. A celebration of Mildreds life will be held at 1:00pm, Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, Georgetown, with Pastor Dave Anderson officiating. Visitation will be held two hours prior at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Georgetown Cemetery.
