Mildred “Evans” Flathers 92, of Danville, formally of Eldorado, Kansas, passed away at 5:10 pm, Thursday, September 5, 2013, at Presence USMC, Danville. She was born March 10, 1921 in Elbing, KS, the daughter of Jack and Maybelle Cullop Seeney. Mildred was first married to Clifton Bennington and later married Herb Evans and also Cleo Flathers they all preceded her in death. Those who will miss her include: one step-son, Guy Edward (Lucille) Evans; a step-daughter, Diana (Billy) Plott; her daughters, Carolyn (Everett) Tooker and Darlene Koch; nineteen grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her parents; four brothers; four sisters; a step-daughter, Marjorie Maddox; a step-son, Clifford Evans; and three grandchildren. Mildred enjoyed painting by numbers, embroidery, dancing and league bowling. In her younger days she worked as a hospital housekeeper and motel maid and lastly, as a greeter at Wal-Mart. A celebration of Mildreds life will be at 12:00 pm, Monday, September 9, 2013, at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel in Westville. Officiating will be Wade Martin. Visitation for family and friends will be one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in St. Johns Evangelical Cemetery near Homer, IL.
