Danville - Mildred Fern Kirkpatrick-Huffman was born on January 2, 1919 and passed away on March 28, 2018. She was the first daughter of Glen and Nellie Kirkpatrick. The oldest of four children and she survived all of her siblings. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Huffman who passed away in Sept 17, 2016. Surviving is her daughter; Valerie (Paul) Osborn, a granddaughter; Donna (Owen) Hemmert, a grandson; Michael (Kimberly) Osborn, five great grandchildren; Shayla, Glenn, Austin, Jeffery, and Adam Osborn, as well as three nieces; Rheta (Robert) Dartt, Patricia (John) Chandler, Connie (Troy) Pearson and a cousin; Janice Baker. During her life Mildred served the Lord diligently, by the side of her husband; Reverend Glenn E. Huffman and served in many capacities in The United Methodist Church. She loved sewing with a passion, baked prize-winning pies and her chicken and noodles were so delicious. The recipe of which is in a cookbook her daughter wrote, Nana's Family and Friends; Generations of Cooking. She also did beautiful knitting and quilting and owned her own craft shop for many years. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion Street Danville, IL. Pastor Bobbie Blackard will officiate. Burial will be in Walnut Corner Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if one should wish, a donation to the Angela Anderson Memorial SJS Research Fund at VUMC c/o Derek Brown, Vanderbilt University Medical Center 3322 West End Ave, Suite 900 Nashville, TN 37203.
