Mildred Bowers

Danville - Mildred Bowers, 87, of Oakwood passed away April 9, 2014. She was born June 3, 1926 in Georgetown, IL to Bert and Edna (Silvey) Tucker. She married John E. Bowers in 1966 in Georgetown, IL, he preceded her in death. Surviving Mildred are two sons, John (Patricia) Bowers, Robert Bowers, both of Danville, IL; one daughter, Diana Bowers of Danville, IL; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and two special friends, Art Dale and Alfred Adams. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, Bert G. and Edna (Silvey); husband, John E. Bowers; 2 sisters and 2 brothers. Mildred loved cats, church, singing, playing the organ, cooking and scrapbooking. She attended church in Oakwood and loved spending time with her grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at Danville National Cemetery Friday, April 18, 2014 at 1:00 PM with Pastor David Birch presiding.
