GEORGETOWN - Mickey D. Acord, 53, of Georgetown, passed away at 4:42pm, Wednesday, October 24th, 2007, while at home. He was born on October 20th, 1954, in Danville, IL, the son of Donald and Inez (Farrell) Acord of Georgetown. Those he leaves behind include: his mother, Inez Acord of Georgetown; his son, Robert RD (Jennifer) Acord of Tilton; his daughter, Janet (William) Taylor of Georgetown; his grandchildren, Abigail Grace Acord and a set of twins, Della Grace and Annie Carol Taylor; his brother, Mike Acord of Georgetown; his sisters, Christine (Mike) Cosat of Georgetown & Teresa Whaley of Arkansas; his six nephews and one niece; several great-nieces & great-nephews; and his special friends, Janie and Donald. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald, his maternal and paternal grandparents as well as his brother-in-law, Tim Whaley. Mickey graduated from Georgetown High School. He worked at General Motors until he retired in October of 2005. He liked spending his time in the outdoors fishing, hunting, and camping. He cherished the time spent with his granddaughters, family, and his extended family. A celebration of Mickeys life will be held at 1:30pm, Saturday, October 27th, 2007, at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E West St, Georgetown, IL. Mr. Steve Rutter has been asked to officiate the service. Mickey will be laid to rest in Forest Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00am to 1:30pm on Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be given in Mickeys name to the Ronald McDonald House in Indianapolis, IN.
