Mick Gritton

Mickey Dale Gritton Sr., 49, of Danville, IL passed July 22, 2006 at 2:30 EST at St Elizabeth Hospital in Carmel Indiana. Mick was born October 25, 1956 son of Marion and Viola Huan Gritton. He married Kathy Lazzell on March 14, 2001. She survives. Surviving are two children: Mickey Dale Gritton Jr. (Amy Howard) of Danville and Misty Ren(c)e Barnes (Michael) of Westville, three step children: Carrie Ann Lazzell, and Brent & Craig Perkinson, mother: Viola Gritton, two sisters: Judith Henderson and Stella Robins, brother: Michael Gritton, four grandchildren: Hayley Gritton, Dalton Dalbey, Alec Ringdahl, and Jaxon Lazzell. Mick was preceded in death by his father Marion Gritton and grandparents Clark and Stella Gritton. Mick was a 1974 graduate of Danville High School and worked for the Northfork-Southern Railroad for thirteen years. He owned and operated Mick & Robins bar in Tilton and Brazas liquor store in South Danville. He was a member of the Harrison Park Golf course and was an avid golfer. Mickey loved to travel, watch the Bears and Illini Basketball. He was people person and was very giving. He loved spending time with his family and friends. A Celebration of Micks Life will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday July 27, 2006 Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center. A Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm Wednesday evening at the funeral Home. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. Memorials may be made to the Mick Gritton Sr. Memorial Fund at First National Bank.
