Michelle Lynn (Cheek) Tatar, also known as Glam Gram, passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at home, in the arms of her hero and husband, Jason Tatar.
Originally from Rantoul, Michelle and family moved to Florida in 2019 to be closer to her second love, the mouse with the big ears. Jason and Michelle were married in September of 1995 and shared a love as magical as Disney.
Her husband Jason; son Cody (Reina) Tatar; daughter Brianna (Kevin) Williams; brother and niece Eric and Reese Cheek; parents Jim and Pam Cheek and God Mother Kaye Heath all survive her.
Also surviving is Michelle’s pride, joy, and mini best friend, her granddaughter Evelynn Claire Williams.
Michelle worked at the Rantoul Township High School before moving to Florida as a Special Education Teacher. She and her husband also set up Haunted Houses in town for many years as Halloween and Fall were her favorite times of year.
She worked at Eustis Elementary School as an E.S.E. School Specialist and STSS Coordinator, fiercely advocating for all students, especially her babies with exceptionalities. Michelle loved all thing Disney, going to the beach, spending time with her husband Jason and her family, especially her granddaughter Evy. Michelle was fiercely loyal, loving, and kind but had a favorite finger and was not afraid to use it.
A Memorial will be Saturday, November 30. A gathering from 10-11 and service at 11 at the American Lutheran Church, Rantoul.
Memorials may be made to Eustis Elementary to be donated in support of her ESE Program.
