Michelle Goodwin-Hendricks, beloved daughter, friend, and cherished member of her community, passed away peacefully in Indianapolis on June 22, 2026, after a courageous four-year battle with cancer. She was 53 years old.
Michelle was born to John and Edna Goodwin, on June 17, 1973, in Danville, Illinois. From her earliest days, she brought warmth, kindness, and a gentle smile to those around her. Throughout her life, Michelle embodied compassion and resilience, qualities that guided her through both joyful moments and difficult seasons.
Michelle's legacy lives on through her children: Travis Maxwell (Genesis Pelszynski), Kiersten Hendricks, Aiden Hendricks, and Gavin Hendricks. She was a proud grandmother to her grandson, Atlas Maxwell. Her partner of nearly 8 years, Matt Brohman. She is also survived by her father John Goodwin, her brother, Michael Goodwin (Racheal), as well as her many nieces and nephews.
Though much of Michelle's personal journey is a private tapestry woven between her and those who knew her intimately, it is clear to all that she lived with quiet grace. She was deeply dedicated to her loved ones, treasuring each relationship she built. Michelle was predeceased by her mother, Edna Goodwin, whose memory she carried with enduring love.
Michelle faced her illness with strength and determination, becoming an inspiration for all who witnessed her journey. Even in her hardest days, she continued to radiate hope and comfort to those she loved.
Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Michelle are invited to pay their respects during a visitation on Sunday June 28, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 200 E West St, Georgetown, IL 61846. A funeral service will follow at the same location, beginning at 4:00 pm.
Michelle Goodwin-Hendricks leaves behind a legacy of steadfast courage and unwavering kindness. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know her.
