Michael Simpson

Michael E. Simpson, 58, of Danville, IL, passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2009, at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center at 5:00 a.m. Michael was born May 19, 1950, the son of Donald E and Elizabeth Betty L. (Delahanty) Simpson. He married Mary Ann Edenburn on November 21, 1997 in Danville. Michael is survived by two sons; Michael E. (Shelly) Simpson, Jr. of Kansas City, KS and Brian J. (Nicole) Simpson of Phoenix, AZ; and six grandchildren, Alexandra and Ashley Simpson of Kansas City, KS; Addison, Kayla, Delaney and Nicholas Simpson of Phoenix, AZ. He was preceded by his parents; one son; Curtis and one sister, Sandra Fayhee. Michael was an A/R Representative for 25 years at Mervis Industries. He enjoyed cooking, antique shopping, playing golf, traveling, remodeling and working in his yard and garden. He loved to dance and play cards with his friends. Michael was a past member of the Danville Jaycees and Boy Scouts. A celebration of Michaels life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 23, 2009 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Pastor James Blue officiating. Burial will be at Springhill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Sunday, February 22, 2009, at the funeral home.
