Michael 'Pops' Eberly

Danville - Michael "Pops" Eberly, 71, passed away on December 7, 2015 at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, IL. He was born the son of David and Frances (Devine) Eberly on January 21, 1944 in Lafayette, IN. Michael and his wife Mary were married on August 28, 1963 in Danville, IL. Michael is survived by his wife, his children Kevin (Shana) Eberly and Kim (John) Simmons; grandchildren Shauna, Jacob, Leah, Brock, and Remington; great-grandchildren Landen, Zendeya, and Makinley; sisters Sue Caudill, Nancy Reddinger, and Tina Smith. Michael is preceded in death by his parents, brothers David & Frank, and sister Rosie. Michael enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting events, dirt track racing with his son and son-in-law, cheating at croquet, watching wrestling on TV, and sitting & talking with family & friends on his patio commonly referred to as "Pop's Pavilion." Visitation will be held at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center on Monday December 14, 2015 from 4-8pm. Funeral service will be held Tuesday December 15 at 10:30am at the funeral home followed by procession to Sunset Memorial Park for burial. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in Michael's name to Presence Regional Cancer Center at 806 N. Logan Avenue, Danville, IL 61832.
